Together We Sing!
Our church is hosting a summer worship evening of music and songs (congregational and choir) this Sunday, August 29 at 7:00 p.m. Brochures are available at the Info Centre which you can use to invite your friends. Circle this date on your calendars and plan to attend…and bring along a friend!
Ministry Opportunities at King Road
There are several opportunities for you to use your God-given talents and gifts in ministry here at King Road:
> Youth Ministries
Please pray with me for youth workers; that God will call and prepare the sponsors for this coming fall. If you are interested to know more about our youth ministry and how you can help please call Edgar Wiens.
> Children’s Ministry
There is a particular need for pre-school Sunday School teachers, and helpers for other children’s ministry areas. If you are interested, please contact Janet Janz.
> Projection, sound and music
Anyone interested in helping with music, sound or projection, please contact Leonard Klassen.

4. Church Family Fall Kick-Off Sunday- Sept 12. Combined service at 10:00 a.m. at the church, followed by potluck at Jackson Elementary School (33165 King Road). Bring sandwiches and finger foods to share with everyone. Fun and games planned for all ages in the afternoon! Bring lawn chairs, blankets and bocce balls if you have them. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to grow closer as a church family of all ages.

5. Student Support Fund. We have
students in our church that will attend CBC, Trinity, or CMU and they are asking
for support. If we are going to help them in preparing for ministry we need your
donations. Please pray and give generously towards our student fund.

6. The Friendship Centre requires volunteers for food preparation. We encourage Care Groups to sign up for Fall. Please consider one of the following dates: September 18, October 2, October 16, November 6, November 20 and contact Ernst Thielmann.
7. Help is needed for the Portzelky Booth at the MCC Sale (September 10-11). This year, our church has again been asked to prepare, fry, and sell Portzelky. We are asking people to sign up for a 2-hour shift to help fry. Twelve people are needed per shift, so why not do this together as your care group? Contact Willi Harder (604-852-3516) for more information and sign up at the Info Centre.

11. MBMSI Opportunities:
> MBMSI is looking for two individuals or a couple who are qualified teachers to provide education to eight missionary children (ages 2-10) in the Turkic World from September 2010-June 2011.
> MBMSI has an opportunity for two individuals to serve the Japan MB Conference by teaching ESL in Osaka, Japan starting in September 2010 for one year. If you are interested in either of these opportunities, please contact John Best at (604) 859-6267 or johnb@mbmsi.org.

> MCC Quilt Show and
Demonstrations: August 28-September 4th at the Clearbrook Public
Library (32320 George Ferguson Way in Abbotsford). The show is open during
library hours. Get a sneak preview of the quilts that will be up for auction at
this year’s Festival. Vote on your favourite quilt and watch the quilters at
