Life Story
The road to Christ has been a long and winding one but the lover of my soul has been constantly running after my heart for many, many years! I grew up a Christian household where music was the mainstay. Both my parents and each of my siblings sang in church at some point while growing up.
I was saved as a 5 year old boy but understood that salvation as much as a 5 year old could. And while I might have been a worship leader through high school, It wasn’t until I was 18 that I made my faith my own.
I grew up with a genetic bone condition that caused more than 10 fractures of my left femur from the age of 5 till I was 17. After the last accident, I told the Lord that I didn’t want His plan for my life. Yet, through the Holy Spirit’s reminding me that afternoon, I remembered what the Lord’s response to Paul was when the latter spoke of his “thorn in the flesh.” God said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
(1 Corinthians 12:9)
While I then understood that I would be in this struggle for the rest of my time on earth, I knew that I had a specific calling to worship ministry, though I didn’t understand the scope of it immediately. After working in the customer service industry for 6 years, I moved into full-time vocational ministry with a para-church organization called Life Action Ministries. It was there that I grew a love and appreciation for local church ministry, and was made aware of a training center in Chicago for worship leaders. After attending the internship in the summer of 2017, I accepted the call to a church in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where I met my wife, Sana, though we weren't married until 2024. I moved to Texas in March of 2021 and served there faithfully until May of 2024. I accepted the offer to King Road in April of 2024 and began work in June. My wife and I are fans of watching movies and shows, we enjoy walks, hanging with our families, and both love music!
My Hope for King Road Church
My desire for the people of King Road is that they would grow in their love for their Savior, understand the purpose and importance of our weekly worship gatherings, and then help others in their understanding of worship as they themselves grow. I desire to help our volunteers find and take ownership in their ministry to King Road and to help them do that with joy. And ultimately, I want to train the next generation of worshippers that will help the future members of King Road enter into the throne room of God with boldness!
