Position: Temporary Part-Time (15 hrs/week)

King Road MB Church is seeking a Part-time Worship Ministry Coordinator to plan and lead our Sunday morning worship services. This role is essential in fostering a vibrant worship environment. The coordinator will work collaboratively with King Road staff and volunteers to plan, prepare, and execute worship services that align with our church's mission and values. This is a part-time position requiring 15 hours per week, with Wednesday evening rehearsals, weekly service planning, and Sunday services.

 

King Road Church is a growing multi-generational and multi-cultural church in the BCMB. We hold to the CCMBC Confession of Faith, and practice a complementarian view of church leadership. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Worship Planning and Song Selection: Choose appropriate songs and music that fit the themes of sermons, the church calendar, and the overall vision of the church, ensuring a balance of contemporary and traditional elements where applicable.

  • Team Coordination and Invitation: Recruit, invite, and schedule worship team members, including vocalists, instrumentalists, and other volunteers, to participate in services and rehearsals.

​

  • Leading Worship Services: Lead worship during Sunday morning services, guiding the congregation in meaningful praise and worship while maintaining a spirit-led atmosphere.

​

  • Rehearsals and Team Development: Organize and lead regular rehearsals to prepare the worship team, providing feedback and spiritual encouragement to team members.

​

  • Collaboration with pastors and staff team: Work closely with the Lead Pastor and other staff to plan worship services, incorporating elements such as scripture readings, prayers, and multimedia to create cohesive and engaging experiences.

​

  • Administrative Duties: Manage worship ministry schedules, music libraries, and resources; and coordinate with the tech team.

​

  • Volunteer Recruitment and Shepherding: Identify and develop potential worship leaders within the congregation, offering mentorship and opportunities for growth in musical and spiritual leadership.

​

  • Special Events: Assist in planning and leading worship for special services, such as holidays, retreats, or community events, as required.

​

  • Spiritual Oversight: Pray for the worship team and congregation, ensuring all activities promote spiritual growth and align with Scripture.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Spiritual Commitment: A mature and growing follower of Jesus Christ, with a lifestyle that reflects Christian values and a heart for worship as a form of ministry.

  • Musical Proficiency: Strong musical abilities, experience and education, along with the capacity to lead with an instrument or vocals; ability to read music and arrange songs in appropriate keys is a must.

​

  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in leading worship in a church setting, with skills in team building, motivation, and conflict resolution. 

​

  • Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and administrative abilities, with proficiency in tools like Planning Center Online, spreadsheets, and other administrative apps.

​

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and relational skills to shepherd volunteers and collaborate with church staff.

​

  • Education and Experience: Education through worship intensives and/or conferences; or education in music, worship arts, or a related field is desirable but not required. At least 2-3 years of experience leading worship in a variety of contexts. Proven ability to finish a degree of any kind considered an asset.

​

  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with sound systems, lighting, and AV equipment is considered an asset.

​

  • Church Membership: Priority will be given to qualified candidates who are currently members of King Road Church.

Requirements:
  • Full agreement with the CCMBC Confession of Faith and commitment to the mission of King Road Church to Love God, Love People, and Make Disciples.

​

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings for rehearsals and Sundays for services.

​

  • Pass a criminal record check as required for roles involving ministry leadership.

​

  • Reliable transportation and availability for church events.

Wage range: $20-$25/hr based on experience.
