Position Overview
King Road Church is seeking a gifted, Spirit-led Pastor of Worship and Young Adults to provide pastoral leadership in these two vital areas of our ministry: cultivating excellent Christ-centered worship experiences, and shepherding our young adults (ages 18-30). This role combines musical proficiency and relational discipleship, fostering meaningful encounters with God and equipping musicians and young adults for mature faith, community, and mission.
The person filling this role requires four foundational characteristics:

Investing in and multiplying leaders within both worship and young adults ministries;

This is a full-time position reporting to the Lead Pastor and working collaboratively with staff and volunteers to advance the church's mission.
King Road Church is a growing, multi-generational and multi-cultural BCMB church, holding to the CCMBC Confession of Faith and a complimentarian view of leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Worship Ministry Leadership

Plan, coordinate, and lead worship services for Sunday mornings, ensuring alignment with Scripture, sermon themes, and the church's mission to Love God, Love People, and Make Disciples of Jesus Christ

Recruit, train, and equip lay worship leaders and team members.

Shepherd the worship team, fostering a joyful and unified team environment where musicians sharpen and encourage each other towards excellence in their craft and growth in their faithfulness to Christ.

Work closely with the youth ministry and youth band to build a culture of worship within the youth, including mentoring young musicians.

Collaborate with the Lead Pastor and ministry leaders to integrate worship elements (i.e., scripture, prayer, creeds) for cohesive, Christ-centered services.

Be proactive in coordinating worship for occasional events, retreats, community outreaches, and young adult gatherings, promoting a culture of authentic, passionate, Gospel-centered worship.

Help shape the congregation's understanding of a biblical theology of worship through services and occasional teaching.

Oversee worship-related administration (i.e., Planning Center, CCLI, music libraries, copyright licenses, equipment maintenance).

Regularly connect with the technical director for the worship ministry's needs.
Young Adults Ministry Leadership

Lead and support the young adults ministry through regular gatherings, Bible teaching, discipleship, and community-building.

Provide pastoral care, counselling, and mentoring to young adults as they navigate life transitions, faith questions, and grow in their discipleship.

Recruit, train, and empower young adults to join in and lead small groups, community outreach, and service opportunities

Integrate young adults into the broader life of the church, encouraging intergenerational connection and service
General Pastoral Responsibilities

Participate in staff meetings, ministry collaboration, and church-wide planning.

Pray regularly for the congregation, ministry areas, and leadership.

Assist with broader pastoral duties as needed (e.g., preaching, weddings, funerals, crisis care)

Support and communicate the church's vision, values, and ministries.

Delegate tasks to maintain focus on leadership development and equipping.

Qualifications & Skills:
-
Spiritual Maturity & Calling: A committed follower of Jesus with a vibrant faith, consistent spiritual disciplines, and clear calling to pastoral ministry, demonstrating biblical character (1 Timothy 3; Titus 1).

Hunger & Humility: A spirit of humility and teachability. An openness to feedback from pastors and fellow worship team members; a lifelong learner who desires to grow; someone who is flexible with methods but consistent in conviction.

Worship Leadership Experience: Proficiency in vocal leadership and at least one instrument (guitar or keys preferred), with experience leading worship in a church setting; knowledge of contemporary and blended worship styles.

Pastoral & Discipleship Experience: Proven track record in teaching, mentoring, and shepherding young adults or similar groups.

Leadership Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational, and team-building abilities, with a heart to develop others.

Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred; 3-5+ years of ministry experience. Seminary training is an asset.

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with worship planning tools, presentation software (e.g., ProPresenter), basic AV/production systems, and mixing.

Willingness to become a member of King Road Church.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings for rehearsals and Sundays for services.

Pass a criminal record check as required for roles involving ministry leadership.

Reliable transportation and availability for church events.
Compensation:
Full-time salaried position: $68,000–$83,000, based on experience, training, and education, with a full benefits package.
